Jonathan Ford is an island ranger, wildlife enthusiast, bird folklorist, dialect collector, director of a festival of islands, arts and heritage facilitator, sculptor, writer, performance artist, failed rocket scientist, and perhaps his favourite of all introductions - the guardian of the Auks.
In recent years he has developed many art-science creative events and workshops exploring island nature, culture and identity. His writing and creative events take in seabirds (extinct and living) and the folklore and history of Papa Westray and remote islands in the North.
